STRUCTURE

Act One: Start with a beginning that lays out the idea of your movie.

Act Two: The middle moves the story further and usually ends with a dramatic climax.

Act Three:  This last act may consists of a visual montage of powerful and emotional moments of your film, usually features a piece of “signature music”

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Narration: You may decide to add text or voice narration to help setup the idea of your movie if it is not clear

Stars: The stars of the film should be showcased, perhaps interspersed with action

Conversation: There should be some conversation between characters. Perhaps some one-liners could be used.

Music: This is an extremely important aspect of your film, without it you will not get full marks. You should use it to create atmosphere

Cast, Crew and Studio Information: This also needs to be included; you have a production company name so please let it be seen in your trailer

Technical Elements: Many movie trailers are presented in Dolby Digital or any other multichannel sound or visual mix; you may wish to include this in your trailer

Title: The film’s title may not appear until the end of the trailer.

Your treatment should answer these fundamental questions:

1.What is the main theme?
2.Have you created a distinctive main protagonist who is a rounded, believable character?
3.What is his or her goal?
4.Who is stopping him or her achieving this goal (the adversary)?
5.What is at stake and why?
6.Where does the film take place?
